My remote isn’t working

If you purchased your new remote from us, please Contact us for help and further advice – your purchase includes our free tech help service (provided by phone, email or live chat) and a 12-month warranty.

Will my new remote just work straight away?

No, for security reasons your new remote, wall button or keypad will need to be paired to the door, gate, or barrier you intend to open with it.  This is done by a simple easy to follow programming procedure which will be included with your purchase from us.  

How do I programme my remote?

All garage, gate and car remotes sold by Remote Warehouse come with simple easy to follow programming instructions.

Garage and Gate remote programming is quite straightforward and usually only requires holding down the button you want to programme on the new remote while pushing the learn/code set/SW1 or similar button on your garage opener motor or Gate receiver. Car remote programming generally requires you to sit inside your car while doing a series of steps pressing buttons on the remote and/or turning the key in a specific sequence. 

Any programming should take you a maximum of a few minutes following our supplied instructions, but if you run into trouble, we are only a phone call, email or live chat away & can take you through programming your remote step by step for no extra cost.

Do your remotes come with a battery included?

Yes, all remotes come with a brand new battery installed.

What does ‘Aftermarket’ mean?

Aftermarket means the remote is not made by the original manufacturer.  It is an unbranded economical alternative option that will still work in the same way intended for your model of opener/motor/receiver.

Is there a universal remote I can buy?

There is no true universal remote that can work on every single Garage Door opener and Gate ever manufactured.

Can I combine my Garage and Gate Remotes onto one remote?

Can I just buy any remote that matches my remote’s frequency?

No, different brands and models of remote controls may share the same common frequency, but this does not mean that any remote control with the same frequency will work on your particular brand and model of door opener, gate, alarm, or car.  With continuing advancements in technology and security, remote circuit boards and the method in which they pair with the main unit will differ from brand to brand and even model to model within brands. Please Contact us if you are having trouble selecting the correct remote for your system.  

I can’t find my remote on your website

Please Contact us if you are having problems finding your remote on our website & be sure to include any photos or details you think might be helpful including brands/model numbers/photos of existing remotes & photos of your Gate or Garage door opener motor – which will help us to identify the correct options for you.

Do you have a physical store or showroom I can visit & buy from?

Remote Warehouse is an online store only.  We are based in New Zealand & all products are dispatched from our Bay of Plenty office & warehouse to you by free 1-2 working day tracked courier.  

Do your products come with a warranty?

All remotes, wall buttons, keypads, receivers, motors/openers, padlocks, locks and safes have a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty included. 

What are your warranty terms?

Remote Warehouse offers a 12-month warranty (from date of purchase) on all remotes, wall buttons, keypads, receivers, motors/openers, padlocks, locks, and safes in line with the NZ Consumers Guarantees Act 1993.

Our Warranty does not cover:

Damage to items caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, or any other external factors caused by operating the equipment in a manner outside of that stated in instructions/manuals supplied.

Products that have been altered, modified, or tampered with by a person/s not authorised by Remote Warehouse to provide service.

Consumable components and accessories such as cases, buttons and batteries are not covered once used or for damage caused by normal wear and tear.
